Q. Why do we use drain dye after clearing a blockage?
Great question!
A. We use drain dye as an indicator which proves we have restored flow to all the facilities within the property.
We can and most customers do ask if we can run a camera through the drain for them just to check their’s no defects.
Drain dye can be used within an investigation to locate connections and particular parts of a drainage system which may be otherwise difficult to access.
We can also use drain dye to check for internal and external leaks i.e. water ingress into a cellar from ground level or a leak on a sink/ basin or shower and or cross connections – rain water running to a treatment plant etc.. which isn’t allowed for compliance reasons.
